St. Ann's in Buffalo has been saved

Vatican saves St. Ann's

Here, too.

A little history of the situation.

  1. This link ( ) makes an important point when discussing the $8-12 million needed for estimated repairs:

"In the 1870s, the German people of St. Ann–most of them poor–made an act of faith to build something splendid for God and for Buffalo.

In 2013 dollars, their project would have cost millions."

  2. Yes, people seem to lack vision nowadays.

  3. "Where there is no vision, the people perish." (Prov. 29:18)

And please, that does not mean making a parish mission statement.

The Hebrew word refers to a divine revelation, a prophetic vision that is made plain through visible means. When the people lack that vision, they are headed for destruction.

Very interesting that the dollar numbers are still so similar after more than a century.
